Zinc Works Road and Seaton Common.
Seaton Common lies between the A178 and Seaton Golf course, and between Zinc Works Road (ZWR), and the road to North Gare. ZWR is a long, straight road, with large laybys, to park up and watch the birds. there are lamposts down ZWR, which often have Kestrels perched on them. Good birds spotted here recently include Barred Warbler, Hen Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Short-Eared Owl and Ring Ouzel. At the bottom of ZWR, there is access to the beach, which often has Sandwich Tern, Ringed Plover and, in the distance towards Teesmouth, Arctic Skua.
At the entrance slip road to ZWR is a little tree, which looks dead, this, I call the 'Owl tree', just because my Son and I had a great view of a Short-Eared Owl which was perched in this tree. There is a picture of the 'Owl Tree' below.
