Why Should I Join?
Anyone can join the Bird Club, whether you are a vastly experienced birder, who has seen hundreds of birds, or whether you are an absolute novice, who can't tell their Sparrows from their Buntings.
If you are a complete novice, who is interested in learning more about birds, then joining the Summerhill Bird Club would be a good start. You would be able to attend monthly meetings, and hear talks about different aspects of birds, sometimes with guest speakers. A monthly newsletter is available.
You would be able to meet experienced birders, and have the opportunity to go on birding trips with the Club. Recent visits have included: Farne Islands and Loch Ken. Further trips are planned. If you have a child, then they are most welcome to join the Junior Section. There is a Christmas Party too!
If you are an experienced birder, then joining the club gives you a chance to meet other birders, and, sometimes answering questions from our ever-inquisitive Junior members (and older members!). You could even add your birding stories to the newsletter, sharing your experiences with the rest of the Club.
It really is a great club, with a friendly atmosphere.
