- 1st May. Grasshopper Warbler on Dorman's Pool. Also Whinchat
near the substation just past Tioxide. Ken Hall.
- 2nd May. Wood Sandpiper and 2 Ruff on Back
Saltholme. - Ken Hall.
- 2nd May. Grasshopper Warbler first heard singing
from a bush near the Dorman's Pool Car Park, then spotted. A tick for
us! About 50 or 60 Swifts overhead, plenty of Sedge Warbler
very noisy on the path from the Car Park to the Jeff Young hide. Also
spotted Reed Bunting, Whitethroat and Reed Warbler. -

- 3rd May. A walk along Denemouth, near Horden brought us 1 Female Blackcap, several Whitethroat and 1 Sandwich Tern, flying south. In Castle Eden Dene, we saw a Great Spotted Woodpecker, Chiffchaff and a fleeting glimpse of a Jay. - George, Chris and Philip Smith.
- 3rd May. 3 Whimbrel present on Greenabella Marsh. Ken Hall.
- 4th May. 3 Whimbrel again present on Greenabella, Spoonbill still on Back Saltholme. 3 Black Tern and Wood Sandpiper present on Back Saltholme too. A Garden Warbler was spotted at Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park. Ken Hall.
- 4th May. After Ken's tip-off we saw the 3 Black Tern flying around the island at Back Saltholme. Also present were Sand Martins, Swift and Common Terns. George, Chris and Philip Smith.
- 5th May. There was a Temminck's Stint and Common Sandpiper on Seaton Common, on the North side of the access road. A Hen Harrier, with a primary feather missing was present at Dorman's pool. Ken Hall.
- 6th May. Cuckoo on the Long Drag. Ken Hall.
- 8th May. 16 Dotterel present near to Danby Beacon. Ken Hall.
- 9th May. Spoonbill, Black Tern, Garganey, 2 Knot, in summer plumage and 2 Ruff on Back Saltholme. A Common Sandpiper was present on Saltholme West.Ken Hall.
- 10th May. Temminck's Stint. 3 on the north side of the North Gare access road. Ken Hall.
- 10th May. We saw 1 Temminck's Stint on Seaton Common, thanks to Ken Hall. We then went to Danby Beacon where we saw 2 Dotterel not far from the beacon, Red Grouse also present in this area. A Spotted Flycatcher was seen on the road leading to Lockwood Beck car park, along with House Martins. 1 Common Buzzard also viewed at Sleddale. George, Chris and Philip Smith.
